From apprenticeship to a job in the energy transition

The vocational garden is an innovative learning-working concept where candidates with a distance to the labor market are trained in a trade and made fit for work in about two months. In addition to work-related skills, they also learn employee skills and receive support for any ongoing problems in all areas of life.

Project description

We focus primarily on engineering and energy transition related trades. These include solar panel fitters, heat pump installers, charging station installers, infra/ground workers, sewer replacements, asphalt workers, neighborhood janitors, painters, bricklayers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, plasterers, tile setters and iron braiders. The vocational garden has branches in Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Dordrecht and Schiedam, this makes it possible in many cases to fulfil the SROI assignment "relatively" locally.

The basic training courses have been developed in collaboration with our cooperation partners, but in addition to this we enter into discussions with each client to find out whether and which specific skills we need to teach the candidates. After completing the training, the candidates are ready to start working for one of the employers in our network.
